Since the release of Counter-Strike 2, many players are excitedly waiting for the cache to return. How to play in cache?

Let’s start with the most important question: how do you get cache on CS2? Easy – this is what you need to do:

1. Go to the Steam Workshop Link
2. Subscribe to maps
3. Steam will automatically start downloading it (this is a large 1.8 GB)
4. Launch the game, and select a map from the workshop.
5. Enjoy the game!

What is changed in the cache for CS2?

Overall, the cache is still a map that we know, but with less green in the color palette. This is a little more like the original cache than CS: Go from what we have seen before.

The map looks beautiful, but that doesn’t mean there will be no tactical surprise. One of the key changes is that the upper floor is now more open, which means we are in a lot of smoking and new flash, unexpected but very effective. There are many rooms to explore, and players will find much to do on this map.

Here are some changes in misc:

• Bomb A door can now be blown up with a grenade
• The middle window of the CT side is gone, but there is still a gap for smoking and flash to go in two directions.
• Mid Boost is easier to use by both sides now.
• Many skills leaps remain intact, so parkour fans will have many opportunities to show off their movements.
• Graffiti S1Mple has not been successful (not yet?).

Some players have reported low FPS to the cache, but FMPone is likely to still optimize the map, taking into account public feedback.

When will the cache join a competitive map on CS2?

For now, the map is available at Steam Workshop. As mentioned, players still face some optimization problems, including FPS drops when playing at the cache. So, at this time, the cache is in the intensive testing phase.

After that, it is possible that Valve will move the cache to the rotation of the community map, but it is still too early to say whether it will enter a collection of competitive maps.

Complexity founder, Jason Lake, has even mentioned rumors that show that Valve might not add cache to competitive games at all. The only thing we know is that a competitive map will change after a major in Austin.

So, the earliest we hear about the competitive future of the cache is the end of June or July. Does this mean we will see the cache in the second major in 2025? Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that. Many depend on the changes made on the cache and how the community reacts to the new version
