As Team Spirit players, staff and fans celebrated the team’s victory at the Shanghai Major, everyone summarized and drew conclusions. The CS.MONEY blog is no exception, but we do it from our favorite angle: listing the most frequently seen skins during tournament broadcasts.

Most Popular Shanghai Major Skin in CS2
Not long ago we shared our observations regarding the most popular skins at the RMR event. This gives us interesting statistics because we monitor 56 teams at once, and the data is abundant.
In the Major, 24 teams competed, and most of them were the same players as in RMR, so it is not surprising that many skins retained their position at the top of the rankings. However, there are some changes that can be easily explained. In the Major itself, collectors are more likely to lend their premium skins so that the overall inventory value increases significantly.
Looking at the top 5 skins, the top three skins remain unchanged. Pro players still prefer USP-S Kill Confirmed, M4A1-S Printstream and USP-S Printstream. However, very different AK-47 and Glock-18 skins have appeared in the rankings. This may be due to a preference for more expensive skins: after all, the Glock-18 Fade and AK-47 Wild Lotus are the most expensive skins for their respective weapon models.
Most Popular AK-47 Skin at the Shanghai Major
When examining the most popular weapons one by one, we can see interesting changes. The distribution of AK-47 skins has become more balanced, but there are clearly still favorites. AK-47 Wild Lotus emerged as the leader, a skin now immortalized by the donk’s phenomenal 1-v-5 ace.
The top three are rounded out by the AK-47 Fire Serpent and AK-47 Bloodsport, both of which are also popular at RMR. Honorable mention was given to the AK-47 Redline, which barely made the top three. This skin is known for many amazing crafts featuring Kato 14 stickers.
Most Popular M4A1-S Skin in Shanghai Major
For the main CT rifle, the situation is almost the same as for the RMR. M4A1-S Printstream continues to dominate, followed by three skins without large graphics. The only difference this time is that the M4A1-S Fade is replaced by the M4A1-S Blue Phosphor.
Overall, the situation remains largely unchanged. Interestingly, the three top skins are exactly the same as those in Copenhagen. You can review those statistics by reading our article here.
Most Popular AWP Skin at Shanghai Major
Unlike the M4A1-S, in the AWP skin ranking there is a significant change between RMR and Major itself. AWP Gungnir and AWP Dragon Lore hold the top two spots by a wide margin. However, other crusts are spread thinly across the popularity spectrum, like butter on toast. In particular, we often saw AWP Sun in Leo and AWP Chrome Cannon, the latter of which was used by ropz for his spectacular no-scope in the final.
Most Popular Glock-18 Skin at the Shanghai Major
Here, the top three skins are identical to those seen in RMR but in a different order. The Glock-18 Fade took first place, while the Glock-18 Dragon Tattoo moved up to second place. RMR’s leader, the Glock-18 Water Elemental, dropped to third — an unfortunate fate for the cheaper skins at the Shanghai Major.

Most Popular USP-S Skin in Shanghai Major
We’ll finish our review with the default CT side gun. Here, USP-S Kill Confirmed and USP-S Printstream. continues to dominate. This trend is also visible in Copenhagen and RMR. However, while USP-S Jawbreaker finished third in Denmark and USP-S Neo-Noir rounded out the top three on RMR, the Shanghai Major saw a sharp increase in USP-S Whiteout’s popularity. This may be due to the unique crafts exhibited by Rain.
